Über Mich
Berliner Katzensitter mit Behinderten Katzen Erfahrung
Cat sitting is for me much more than a job. It's something I do with joy, something I do to feel better. I believe for that reason, I can sit your cat with great care. Although I adopted my pet cat only 2 years ago, my experience with pets go much further than that. As someone who was born and raised in Istanbul until I was 18, I had quite the experience with stray animals. Petting and caring for them was a great pastime activity for me. Me moving to Berlin was pretty hard in some aspects, considering there are no street dogs or cats anywhere to be seen. This created an enormous need for a pet in my life. This need was initially fulfilled through my old roommate's cat. She was a shared effort and her responsibilities were shared between us through that year. Knowing that I can take care of one after experiencing it on my roommates cat, my need for a pet once again resurfaced after I moved out. This was the first reason I planned on adopting a cat. Knowing the tough battle the stray animals can go through in Istanbul, I knew I wanted to adopt one from the streets and bring him to Berlin. An extremely hurt cat caught my attention, and through veterinary care he was brought back to (almost) healthy life. His eyes were severely infected and had to be amputated. Although one of his eyes is still in place, he sadly has lost the ability to see completely as a result of the procedure. This was of course a challenge at first, but extremely rewarding knowing how much he needed me. Although my experience in living with a cat is a bit short, the challenges he brought through his disability gave me the experience I needed. I helped him adapt through his move from Turkey to Germany and helped him reduce his traumatic response from the hard situations he experienced as a blind cat on the streets of Istanbul. I believe my experience with him will give me all the information I need in my aim to care for your cat, disabled or not.
I can feed, and clean the toilet of your cat/cats. I am also experienced in oral medications. Although all cats are different, my cat hates medication and makes the process as hard as possible, yet I somehow successfully give him his medication. Which gives me enough confidence to believe I can do the same for your cat/cats. Although I can come to your home to catsit, I love when cats are brought to my apartment, since I would love to have another cat in the apartment that my cat can socialize with. Since he is blind, his only comfort zone is his home and he can only meet other cats when they come to my apartment. Of course sudden changes of homes are really hard on cats, therefore I believe it’s safer to be done in your home if your cat isn’t experienced in going out or socializing.
