Hi, I’m Liana, I’m 31 years old and I live in Tübingen, where I’ve been happily settled since 2021. I’m currently writing my PhD in philosophy and I work as a student research assistant (HiWi) at the Institute for Media Studies at the University of Tübingen. I grew up in the countryside, surrounded by cats from the time I was in first grade, so caring for cats has always been a natural part of my life rather than something I learned later on. In 2019, I rescued a cat from the streets - I named him Sophocles-and he became my companion and best friend. I brought him with me to Germany, and he lived a full, adventurous life here. He was an “adventure cat,” used to long outdoor walks, sometimes even without a leash when we were safely in nature. Sadly, a few months ago, Sophocles passed away due to a congenital heart condition. Making the decision to let him go was incredibly difficult, but it was the kindest option for him. Losing him left a big quiet space in my daily life, and I truly miss sharing my time with a cat. This is one of the main reasons I want to be a pet sitter (besides needing some extra money, of course). I’m a huge cat person, and I deeply understand how important it is to leave your cat in safe, loving, and attentive hands when you have to be away. I also know from personal experience how hard it can be to find someone you fully trust -I always relied on friends or acquaintances, and even then it wasn’t easy. Choosing me as your pet sitter is, in my view, a win-win-win situation: You can feel at peace knowing your cat is safe, loved, played with, and well cared for. Your cat gets calm, patient, and attentive companionship. And I get to do something that genuinely makes me happy. I still have four cats at my parents’ home in Romania-Tomi, Rilke, Edi, and Pisica-and because I don’t get to see them often I miss them soooo much. I’m gentle, responsible, observant, and respectful of each cat’s individual personality and needs. Whether your cat is playful, shy, independent, or affectionate, I take the time to meet them where they are. I could give many reasons for why I love cats, but none of them would fully capture how I feel. Real love, I think, is not something words can hold.
